MINER -- Area residents are once again being warned of a scam by mail.
Miner Police Chief Chris Griggs said the department has received several complaints of the most recent scam hitting the area.
"Residents are receiving letters claiming they have won money, and a check is enclosed. Instructions are sent on how to deposit the check and ask that a portion of the money is sent back to them for payment of taxes," Griggs said.
