Chaffee gets rare win over SCC 64-47

CHAFFEE -- For the first time in 12 years the Chaffee Red Devils defeated the Scott County Central Braves.

Chaffee, who hadn't beaten the Braves since Dec. 29, 2000 in a 64-60 Red Devil victory, finally downed the perennial power 64-47 Friday at Chaffee High School.

Risco 78, Southland 35

CARDWELL -- Led by Caleb McCord's 20 points, the Risco Tigers took a 30-point halftime lead against Southland Friday before closing out a 78-35 win at the Rebels' homecoming.

Risco came out on a dominant 18-3 run in the first quarter before doubling up Southland in the second frame to go up 48-18 at the break.

The Tigers scored another 21 points in the third quarter while holding the Rebels to five to ensure a turbo-clocked fourth.

Collecting his team-high 20 points, McCord hit four of Risco's seven 3-pointers on the night. Austin White was second on the squad with 18 points while Jordon Pavy and Justin Earnheart scored 13 and 10 points respectively.

The win moves the Tigers to 10-8 on the year and 6-1 in Tri-County Conference play. Risco will have a chance to clinch second-place in conference when they host North Pemiscot on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in their final conference game of the season.

South Pemiscot 70, Neelyville 58

STEELE -- The South Pemiscot Bulldogs hit nine 3-pointers in a 70-58 home win against Neelyville Friday night.

Jacob Trammel led the Bulldogs with 21 points. He hit seven of the 16 treys he attempted. Anthony Primer tallied 13 points for South Pemiscot. Logan Carter added 12 more for the Bulldogs.

South Pemiscot shot (9 of 22) from 3-point range and hit 18 of 40 2's.

South Pemiscot (13-7) returns to action Tuesday at 8 p.m. when it plays Caruthersville in the first round of the Bootheel Conference Tournament at Malden. South Pemiscot is the No. 6 seed in the 7-team tournament and Caruthersville is the No. 3 seed. South Pemiscot is 2-0 against Caruthersville this season.
