SIKESTON -- William Carrol "W.C." Turnbow Jr., 81, died Jan. 26, 2013, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 9, 1931, in Steele, to the late William Carrol Turnbow Sr. and Nora Inman Turnbow, he was of the Church of Christ belief. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served as a corporal during the Korean War. He worked as a farmer and self-employed business owner before retiring.
In November 1957, he married Doris Douglas, and she survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Michael Turnbow of Jackson and Steve Turnbow and Greg Turnbow of Sikeston; two sisters, Opal Scherer and Clara Frankum; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Pat Hogan of Shady Acres Church of Christ will officiate
