ST. LOUIS -- Lula Nichols, 77, died Jan. 25, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield.
Born April 15, 1935, in Shelbyville, Ill., to the late Launce Lot and Harriet Anna McElroy Barker, she had lived most of her life in St. Louis. She was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Kirkwood Chapter 358 and of the Protestant belief.
On April 27,1951, in Dexter, she married Walter Nichols, who survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Debra Nichols Wirt of St. Charles and Donna Sellers Sheffer of St. Peters; one sister, Allie Arlene Myatt of Paragould, Ark.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Nichols Sr.; three brothers; one sister; and one grandson.
Visitation is at 4 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Roger Wooten of Dexter officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
