NMCC cruises to 65-46 win over Royals

BROSELEY -- The New Madrid County Central Eagles opened up with a 14-point lead and cruised to a 65-46 win over Twin Rivers Friday.

Willie Jimerson led the Eagles with 16 points. Delontre Haney added another 10 while Darrin McGloson had nine points.

The Eagles (11-6) led 40-23 at the half and then 61-38 heading into the fourth quarter with a comfortable advantage.

Scott City 56, East Prairie 37

EAST PRAIRIE -- Putting the game away in the third quarter, the Scott City Rams took care of the visiting East Prairie Eagles 56-37 Friday.

Jonathan McFall paced the Rams with 20 points. Ryan Brock chipped in 19 points and Ryan Fortner scored 10.

Scott City (12-9) held a 25-14 lead at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, they pushed their lead to 21 points.

Damion Tipler led the Eagles with 17 points.

Scott City's homecoming game was on Saturday against Egyptian, Ill. Results from that game will be in the Monday edition of the Standard Democrat.

ORAN -- The Oran Eagles made quick work of the Bell City Cubs Friday during an 89-47 win at Oran High School.

The Eagles, who had five players in double figures, were led by Alex Heuring's 19 points. Chance Tenkhoff scored 17 while Seth Ressel, Jacob Priggel and Hunter Schlosser all added 12 points apiece.

After the first quarter, Oran held a commanding 34-7 lead.

Jared Yates led the way for Bell City with 18 points. McKenzie Vires added 13. Both Yates and Vires each hit three 3-pointers.
