Charleston wins on late 3-pointer, Bravettes dispatch Chaffee 75-40

CHARLESTON -- Charleston sophomore Sierra Frazier drained a 3-pointer with eight seconds remaining to give the Lady Bluejays a 62-61 win against Kennett Thursday during Charleston's senior night.

Frazier led Charleston with 18 points. Juwanna Walker and Dazique Gillespie each added 11 points.

The Lady Bluejays (18-6) fell behind by as many as nine points in the fourth quarter with three minutes left. They outscored the Lady Indians 21-15 in the final period.

Charleston will play East Prairie on Saturday at 9 a.m. to open the first round of the Class 3, District 1 tournament at Malden High School.

SIKESTON -- The Scott County Central Bravettes made quick work of the visiting Chaffee Lady Devils Thursday, 75-40.

SCC's Mikaela Blissett and Ann Dennis each led the Bravettes with 24 points. Blissett, who shot 11 of 16 (68 percent) from the floor, had eight rebounds and four steals. Johniqua Fort, who scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had four steals. Derien Ditto had seven assists, five rebounds and three steals. Dennis had eight rebounds and five steals.

Lindsey Harrell led Chaffee with 12.

RISCO -- Starting the game on fire, the Risco Tigers defeated Zalma 95-56 Thursday at Risco High School.

The Tigers scored 39 points in the first quarter and led 61-26 at halftime during senior night.

Caleb McCord scored a game-high 26 points for Risco while Austin White added 22. Matt Cumins scored 16, Brandon Bixler had 13 and Hunter Knight chipped in with 10.
