Ressel, Oran squeak out win over Triad, Swarm takes Best Buy title
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- It took eight innings, but Seth Ressel and the Oran Eagles got the job done.
Ressel scored the game's winning run in the top of the eighth and also pitched the full eight innings to earn the win on the mound against Triad, Ill., during the Notre Dame Showcase at Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau.
Ressel gave up four hits, struck out five and did not allow a walk in the complete game effort.
Oran had three hits, each by Kody Moore, Alex Heuring and Jacob Priggel.
The Eagles (9-5) will play Tuesday at Woodland for their next game.

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The SEMO Swarm AAU basketball team won the 2nd annual Best Buy Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio Sunday in a tight 75-73 victory.
New Madrid County Central's Willie Jimerson was named the tournament's 'Mr. Hustle' while Jackson's Karson King won the tournament's Most Valuable Player award.
