BENTON -- Police are searching for two suspects involved in an armed bank robbery early Thursday in Morley.

According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, the robbery occurred around 8 a.m. as an employee was opening the First Commercial Bank on U.S. Highway 61 in Morley.

"Two males, armed with a handgun, forced their way into the bank and held the employee at gunpoint and proceeded to rob the bank," Walter said.

An unspecified amount of money was taken.

"The suspects fled on foot, and according to some witnesses in neighborhood, it's believed they were picked up by a third person," Walter said.

Authorities are reviewing cameras from the bank and other businesses in the area, the sheriff said. He encouraged anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact the sheriff's department.

"If they were in that area around 8 a.m. Thursday -- a couple minutes before or after -- and remember something, please contact our office," Walter said. "We know from the surveillance videos, there were other vehicles in the area when the suspects fled so if there is anything they thought they saw or anything suspicious, contact us."

Anyone who has information regarding this case should contact the sheriff's department at (573) 471-3530 or the FBI at (573) 335-2511.
