New Council member sworn in; board members picked

SIKESTON -- Who will represent the Sikeston City Council on various city boards and commissioners was decided during the new Council's first meeting Monday.

After the Council's acceptance of the April 8 election results, Bob Depro was sworn in to another term in office in his at-large seat; John Graham was sworn in as Ward 2 representative to fill out the one-year unexpired term created by the death of Tom Hedrick; and Steven Burch was elected by the Council and then sworn in as mayor pro tem.

The Council then elected Council members to the following positions during Monday's reorganization:

* Council members re-elected Jon Gilmore, Maude Harris and Depro to serve as Council representatives to the city's Professional Consulting Committee.
