I smell politicians

Oh how politicians weep. Isn't it something how if the No. 2 man that they call in the Republican Party gets beat by a commonsense person that don't have a big check. To me, I think 1 and 2 should fall just like the Democrats, the 1 and 2 should fall on their side. Once you put them all in the same bucket, they all smell the same. They don't care. I've got a theory. Editor of this paper, I've got a theory. If they are elected to two terms in office, I don't care what branch, office they are, they automatically get paid a salary for the rest of their lives. Ladies and gentlemen and taxpayers, you wonder why our debt is what it is? It's because we have idiots in Washington that vote themselves this lifestyle for the rest of their life. The thing about it is, we can't do much about it because they all stick together. It's like they've got their own little gang up there. They're no different than a gang out there with guns or a gang out there with knives with rags on their faces cause they don't want to show who they are. These are gangs in suits and ties. They're ripping us off left and right and we aren't doing a darn thing about it. Wake up because it's getting close to ugly time if it's not already here. Vote for the right person, whoever that is.

And that's the way it is ...

This is for Michael Jensen. I see that you are a religious fanatic and you are very degrading to our president. No matter what our president does, it's not good enough for you. You blame him for everything. It takes Congress to do the blaming, not just the president. No matter what happens, Obama is always wrong. You think everything is so great -- then maybe you should do something about it or shut your mouth. If you don't like the United States, take your family and yourself and move to a different country and see how fantastic it is elsewhere. The United States is a great place to live. And now you're putting in there about the exchange of prisoners. If that were your son, wouldn't you want him released? Stop and think about it, Mike. You are a degrading hypocrite of a religious person.

Tear it down

I live in New Madrid, and I just wanted to say that we have the oldest Methodist Church south of the levee in Missouri and it's gorgeous and kept up beautifully. There's a house next to it that's falling in. The whole backside fell off and some of the siding. They say that the commode and some of the floors have fallen in. I wonder what some of the people think when they come to take pictures of that church. It's a real eyesore. What I was thinking that if some of the people in New Madrid could get together could have maybe a cleanup day, bring a sack lunch and tear that house down for whoever owns it. Maybe they don't have anyone to tear it down, but it sure would make our town look better. It's right there by the church. The neighbors said they heard a noise and it was something falling off the back of the house. They have children so they were kind of concerned about it. But I just thought we could have a neighbor cleanup day to do projects and beautify the community and make our town more beautiful. Everything else is looking absolutely beautiful.
