Law and order

Over 90 percent of the killings in the U.S. are blacks killing blacks. The media did not publicize the blacks in Ferguson that went to the shops to help clean up and said they were sorry for what happened. We each could not sleep well if we thought our police were not on the job night and day to protect us, whether we are black or white. The police are working for our safety, not the agitating Black Panthers that are stirring up the crowds. We must keep law and order in perspective.

This one's for you

I watched the Cardinal game on Aug. 19 and they had "This one's for you," where they telecast to the soldiers so they could watch the game live in Afghanistan. They were the Missouri National Guard 220th Engineers out of Festus. A tip of the hat for sharing a little part of home with them. Those soldiers were smiling from ear to ear. Funny how just being able to see a ballgame could make them happy. We should be thankful for so much that we take for granted. Thanks Cardinals, you hit it way out of the park this time!

Oughta be a law

I just want to make a comment about the illegal immigrants that the government released, over 2,400 of them. Some of them had murder and drugs against them and everything else. I don't understand why white or black people here in the United States in prison for breaking probation, writing bad checks, stealing and stuff like that, I feel if they can release them how come they can't release someone who has six months or less on their sentence here in the United States? We release illegal immigrants back into our society but we cannot release Americans that have less than six months. That's a shame. But then again, what do you expect from this *&%$ government?

Send Drew to the rescue

This is my opinion and my opinion only. What Ferguson, Mo., needs is Drew Juden and all of his police department. They have done wonders with our town of Sikeston, and yes, I am Sikeston proud.

We aim to deliver

I'm sure this will not be printed, just trying to read Wednesday's daily paper. It is so beat up you can hardly read it. There are big holes in it from being thrown on the driveway beat to heck. It seems to me for the price of the paper, it should have a plastic cover on it whether it's raining or not.

Anytime you receive a paper that you are unable to read for any reason, give us a call and we will gladly replace it for you.

More teams than one

Dexter and Notre Dame aren't the only volleyball teams in Southeast Missouri. There is Woodland, Meadow Heights, Leopold, Bell City, just to name a few. They are just as good a teams as Notre Dame is.
