Make the wealthy pay

Thank you for printing article about the report by the Standard and Poor's that Missouri and many other states are slowly destroying the morality of our great nation and its states by the lack of understanding or the political belief that the cost of government should be financed by a sales-tax base of taxation rather than the ability to pay system. We are slowly destroying the middle class of this country by increasing their tax load while at the same time lightening the load of those most able to pay. As usual the proof of that one group is terribly wrong. It is usually not apparent of the damage until it is done. As this report warns, most of our state senators and our representatives could not pass a basic course in economics. If the wealthy 1 percent of our society can finance the campaigns and the politicians want to shift the tax loads to others rather than themselves, they simply spend more money and invest for that result by financing politicians who agree with them. Therefore the loyalty of the politicians is not to the people but the people who buy their positions.

It doesn't add up

Yes, this is my concern with the PSC with dealing with Noranda. It is a two-sided issue. They didn't want to pass on an electric rate increase to the customers for helping Noranda to stay in the area, but yet they approved a increase for Ameren for all of their customers to take effect this month in September. It don't figure. Something don't add up. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Bring back Oz

Would you please find out for us what happened to Dr. Oz. His program was so educational and this stupid mess they have got on there now is absolutely terrible. I would appreciate it so much if you would put in Speakout what happened to Dr. Oz.

Dr. Oz has switched networks. He is now on at 3 p.m. on ABC.
