Chaffee at Valle Catholic
Records: Chaffee 0-8; Valle Catholic 9-0
Series History: Valle Catholic leads 21-0

Last Week: Chaffee lost to Kelly 48-18; Valle Catholic defeated St. Pius X 47-9
Outlook: Chaffee is seeking history as they have never beaten Valle Catholic in 21 tries. This will be a big task for Chaffee, who scored 18 points last week, the first time they have scored more than one touchdown in a game this season. Jake Perkins (5-10, 181, sr.) leads Chaffee in rushing with 403 yards and one touchdown while quarterback Jordan Wilburn (6-0, 170, jr.) has thrown for 360 yards and three touchdowns on the season. The Red Devils are averaging over three turnovers a game and defensively, Chaffee is allowing 37 points per game. Valle Cathoic, the top ranked team in Class 1, has been dominant again, scoring 52 points per game while allowing just seven points per game. The Warriors lost starting tailback Lee Stuppy (5-9, 185, jr.) to a broken leg earlier this month but didn't miss a beat as Koltyn Schilly (6-0, 190, sr.) and Tristan Huck (5-10, 170, so.) stepped in to fill the void. Quarterback Connor Basler (6-0, 159, jr.) is an accurate passer and also can run when needed. Defensively, Jacob Trautman (6-3, 215, sr.) can wreak havoc on the quarterback rushing off the line while Nick Oberle (5-9, 150, jr.) holds down a cornerback position.

Charleston at Malden
Records: Charleston 0-9; Malden 9-0
Series History: Charleston leads 22-13-1
Last Meeting: 2012, Charleston won 50-30
Last Week: Charleston lost to Herculaneum 41-6; Malden defeated Dexter 76-8
Outlook: Charleston allows 56 points per game while Malden is scoring at a clip of 62.4 points per game and is on pace to break the state record for points in a season. As a team the Green Wave average 344 yards rushing per game and over 10 yards per carry. They are led by running back Dremond Robinson (5-6, 180, sr.) who has gained 1,127 yards and 22 touchdowns while Cortez Dobbins (6-2, 161, sr.) has 20 total touchdowns, 13 coming on the ground, gaining 551 yards. He also has caught seven passes for 250 yards with five touchdowns. Running back Nick Thompson (5-11, 221, jr.) has 517 yards rushing and eight touchdowns while quarterback Chapen Riley (6-3, 203, jr.) has thrown for 916 yards and 14 touchdowns with no interceptions. Malden has forced 22 turnovers this season and allow just under 10 points per game. Charleston averages just over 10 points per game but have not scored more than one touchdown in a game the last four weeks. Running back Tennerious Ewing (5-6, 180, jr.) leads the Blue Jays ground attack while quarterback Evan Burton (5-10, 160, sr.) handles the snaps.

Hayti at Portageville
Records: Hayti 3-5; Portageville 5-4
Series History: Portageville leads 44-25-3
Last Meeting: Sept. 19, Portageville won 34-18
Last Week: Hayti was idle; Portageville lost to NMCC 48-20
Outlook: The two teams met on Sept. 19 with Portageville holding on to win 34-18 but things will be different for Portageville in the rematch. Starting linebacker Derrick Priggel and starting quarterback/linebacker Jon Garrett Kellams will both be out due to injury. Priggel and Kellams were part of all five scores in their first meeting with Hayti. Freshman Ian Torrey will start at quarterback for the Bulldogs after playing late in last week's loss to NMCC, completing three of six passes for 31 yards and two interceptions. Portageville will rely on junior running back Daniel McCray who gained 131 yards on 27 carries last week against NMCC. Hayti had last week off to heal up any injuries they have. In the first meeting, Hayti was victimized by three turnovers and 13 penalties. The Indians were sparked by quarterback Maurice Farr (6-0, 185, so.) who rushed for 65 yards and touchdown and threw for 110 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Devante Robinson (5-8, 150) caught two passes for 85 yards and a touchdown and ran for 24 yards on four carries.

Kelly at Caruthersville
Records: Kelly 4-5; Caruthersville 5-4

Last Week: Kelly defeated Chaffee 48-18; Caruthersville lost to Ste. Genevieve 21-17
Outlook: Caruthersville rolled in their first meeting with Kelly, piling up 53 first half points and 483 rushing yards. Daniel Fugate (5-9, 175, sr.) gained 240 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Tigers while Rodrick Jones had 108 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Peyton Faulkner (5-9, 150, jr.) also rushed for over 100 yards, gaining 105 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 42 yards on 3 of 7 passing. Kelly was led by Ethan Faires (6-0, 165, jr.) who had 86 yards rushing and a touchdown while Maurice Davis (5-11, 150, jr.) returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Quarterback Kyle Fitzgerald (6-0, 175, so.) threw for 66 yards in the first meeting with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Scott City at East Prairie
Records: Scott City 4-5; East Prairie 6-3

Last Week: Scott City defeated Perryville 28-13; East Prairie lost to Kennett 56-20
Outlook: Their first meeting was a thriller with East Prairie scoring 30 points in the fourth quarter only to come up short 46-45. Scott City was led by quarterback Braden Cox (6-2, 188, so.) who carried the ball 41 times for 215 yards and a touchdown while completing 17 of 36 passes for 248 yards and four touchdown. Austin Spriggs (6-2, 151, sr.) caught six passes for 60 yards and a touchdown while Noah Hahn (5-10, 150, jr.) returned a kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown. While the East Prairie defense allowed 512 yards their offense gained 406 yards with quarterback Brett Ellis (6-0, 168, jr.) throwing for 219 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 26 yards and another touchdown. Deverence Jones (5-8, 147, so.) caught seven passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 81 yards as well. Running back Adrian Soto (5-8, 171, sr.) gained 93 yards on 11 carries in the game.

NMCC at Park Hills Central
Records: NMCC 4-5; Park Hills Central 9-0
Series History: Series tied at 1-1
Last Meeting: 2010, Park Hills Central defeated NMCC 38-28
Last Week: NMCC defeated Portageville 48-20; Park Hills Central defeated Farmington 39-3
Outlook: NMCC found an explosive offense last week piling up 469 yards against Portageville, 429 yards on the ground. Running back Mikeal Walker (5-10, 175, sr.) gained 143 yards while Malik Stevenson (5-10, 170,sr.) ran for three scores and 62 yards. Quarterback J.C. Dryden (5-10, 180, sr.) was elusive on the option, running for 92 yards and two scores while completing one pass for 40 yards to T.J. Clark (5-9, 170, sr.). The Eagles defense held Portageville to just 20 points and 253 yards and is allowing 31 points per game. Park Hills Central is ranked No. 3 in Class 3 and allows just under nine points per game and are led by Drew Harlow (6-2, 220, jr.), who had 13 tackles, four for losses last week. Colin Bess (6-5, 230, sr.) had nine tackles last week while Brandon Maberry (6-2, 192, sr.) had three sacks. The Rebels offense can be explosive, averaging 41 points per game. Last week against Farmington, quarterback Jake Bridges (5-8, 150, jr.) found multiple ways to hurt the Knights, completing 12 of 17 passes for 210 yards and gained 131 yards on 10 carries. Maberry also had 73 yards on 15 carries last week and caught four passes. Hunter Strange had 104 yards receiving and Brayden Manion (6-1, 170, sr.) caught three passes as well.

Dexter at St. Pius X (Festus)
Records: Dexter 4-5; St. Pius X (Festus) 6-3

Last Week: Dexter lost to Malden 76-8; St. Pius X lost to Valle Catholic 47-9
Outlook: St. Pius X has won six games but only has one win over a team with a winning record (Herculaneum) while averaging 31.1 points per game. To stop the Lancers, the Bearcats must contain running back Tryson Thornton (5-6, 150, jr.) who has 17 touchdowns this season. Thornton has gained 789 yards on the ground with 10 touchdowns and has caught 18 passes for 290 yards and five touchdowns. St. Pius X uses two quarterbacks with junior Mikey Karoly (5-11, 200) throwing for 593 yards and 11 touchdowns and no interceptions and senior Isaiah Hennessey (5-11, 160) has thrown for 287 yards and three touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 277 yards and four touchdowns. The Lancers give up 22.2 points per game while Dexter is scoring 26 points per game. The Bearcats are led by quarterback Peyton Pollock (6-2, 190, sr.) who has thrown for 1,312 yards and 10 touchdowns with just five interceptions. Ethan Stevens (5-10, 175, jr.) has 11 touchdowns on the season, six receiving with 29 catches for 369 yards. The Bearcats defense has been suspect late in the season allowing 76 points last week to state-ranked Malden and 43 points per game in their last five.
