New Madrid County Central Middle School Student Council and National Junior Honor Society sponsored a Pink-Out Day for the students to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. The principals, secretaries, teachers, librarian, nurse, counselor and students participated by wearing pink on Oct. 9. The students competed for free admission to the Pink-Out game by wearing pink to school. The sixth grade had 64 percent participation, eighth grade, 71 percent and the winners were seventh grade with 74 precent participation. The Middle School girls basketball team supported breast cancer awareness by wearing pink shoes laces, pink hair ribbons and pink arm bands, along with the coaches who wore hot pink shirts. STUCO and NJHS collected donations at the door and passed out Breast Cancer flyers.
