Kindergarten teacher Ashley Palmer was recognized as Staff PeaceBuilder at Matthews Elementary School at Matthews for the first quarter of 2014-2015. Mrs. Palmer is an excellent role model for her students as well as all other students in the building, New Madrid County R-1 officials said. Selection was based on how well the staff member exhibits the attitude and actions associated with the PeaceBuilder program. A Peacebuilder praises others, gives up put-downs, seeks wise people, acknowledges and speaks up when they've hurt someone else, rights wrongs, helps others and builds peace at home, at school and in their community.
