PREP ROUNDUP: Chaffee wins consolation game at Twin Rivers Classic

BROSELEY -- Julia Sutterfield scored a game-high 14 points to lead the eighth-seeded Red Devils to a 46-20 victory over the No. 16 Redbirds in a consolation quarterfinal of the Twin Rivers Lady Royals Christmas Classic.

Kylie Wilhite added 11 points for Chaffee (6-1). The Red Devils will take on No. 13 Portageville on Monday at noon in a consolation semifinal.

Megan Mullins had 12 points for East Carter County.

Neelyville's Shelby Moon scored a game-high 24 points to lead the second-seeded Tigers in the quarterfinal win over the seventh-seeded Hawks in the Lady Royals Christmas Classic.

The Tigers posted a big 31-point first half advantage before a second-half stalemate.

Chelsea Petty netted 14 points and Christina Russom tossed in 13 points for Neelyville. The Tigers advanced to the semifinals where they will take on third-seeded Naylor on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Tori Duenne scored 11 points to pace Kelly (6-2). The Hawks will face No. 11 Greenville at 7:30 p.m. in a fifth-place semifinal.

The Dexter Lady Bearcats picked up a quarterfinal win over No. 9 Kennett 55-44.

Dexter, the top seed, will take on fourth-seeded Twin Rivers today at 3 p.m. in the tournament semifinals.

Portageville 53, NMCC 34

The No. 13 seed Portageville Lady Bulldogs pulled off a 53-34 upset win over fifth-seeded New Madrid County Central.

NMCC was eliminated from the tournament while Portageville will take on No. 8 Chaffee in the consolation semifinals today at noon.

Malden 65, Charleston 61

The Charleston Lady Bluejays lost its second consecutive overtime game falling to No. 14 Malden 65-61.

Sierra Frazier, who scored 40 points in Charleston's first round loss to No. 11 Greenville, scored 26.
