Six New Madrid County Central FFA members participated in the annual FFA Fall Public Speaking. During this competition FFA members have the opportunity to prepare and present a 6-8 minute speech on different topics sponsored by various Missouri agriculture interest organizations. Students first compete on the local level and may move up to the area, district and state levels. Area competition was held in Doniphan on Oct. 2 and District competition was held in Bloomfield on Nov. 13. NMCC FFA members, areas they participated in and results are, from left: Khyeair Rivers, Missouri Institute of Cooperatives, Area - first place; Kelsey Morgan, Missouri Soil and Water Conservation, Area -second place, Districts - competitor; Mercade Campbell, Missouri Young Farmers and Young Farm Wives, Area - second place, Districts -competitor; Grayson York, Missouri Pork Producers, Area - first place, Districts - second place; Beth Clark, Missouri Farm Bureau, Area - first place, Districts - second place; and Lauren Riggs, Missouri Cattleman's Association, Area - first place, Districts - competitor. Clark was presented with a $50 prize courtesy of the Missouri Farm Bureau for placing second at the Southeast District FFA Fall Public Speaking Contest.
