CHARLESTON - A Mississippi County man will be arraigned next week on three counts of domestic assault.

Christopher Shawn Bailey, 36, of East Prairie, is scheduled to be in Division II of Mississippi County Circuit Court before Judge S. Rob Barker at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday for two felony counts of second degree domestic assault and one count of third degree domestic assault, a misdemeanor.

The investigation began Saturday evening when Deputy Michael Borders was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the Whiting area of Mississippi County, according to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore.

Upon his arrival, Borders met with Bailey outside the residence and learned an altercation had taken place between Bailey and several family members. Moore reported that after further investigation, Borders determined Bailey had assaulted his wife and two stepchildren. Bailey was placed under arrest and transported to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

As of press time, he remains jailed with bond set at $25,000.
