Hello Southeast Missouri. Hello Americans. Playoff games were okay. Green Bay choked. Indianapolis never showed. Seattle and New England in the Super Bowl. I have to go with New England. Get all the football players to play football. One made a touchdown and grabbed his crotch. Not cool. Be respectable to the ones that are watching and paying the bills. You are a good football player, but grow up and have a little tact.

Good sportsmanship

I would like to commend the Sikeston students, athletes and fans on their positive behavior at the Sikeston vs. Jackson basketball game on Friday, January 16. All in all it was a great game but anyone present recognized the bad calls on behalf of the refs and some foul play from the Jackson players. As if that is not enough to fire up a crowd, the Jackson student section was very degrading in their actions even poking fun at specific students in our section while their fans were throwing around hateful gestures and angry words. Not enough for you? Jackson was leading us by 10+ points. The situation could have made even the calmest sports fan go crazy but instead the bleacher bums remained neutral in the back and forth chatter and never poked fun in a harmful way at one particular student. Our basketball team remained calm and never resorted to dirty play. The cheerleaders continued to lead the crowd in a positive manner and the fans showed support without disrespecting the visiting team. It was refreshing to see. Our little town often is portrayed with a negative image and it is important to point out the positive demeanor from the Sikeston community in the field house that night. We do have great kids. Let's not forget that.

Put the blame on mama

I saw on the news where another toddler got into mama's purse, got her loaded gun and shot himself. Mothers are stupid to carry loaded guns in their purse. If they have to have them, keep the safety on and put them where the babies can't get them. If kids get mama's gun and shoot themselves or somebody else, they should get mama for murder just like they done it. If they are that stupid to have a loaded gun in their purse where children can get them, they should be charged with murder.

I know my yumbos

I do not know how Burger King is not getting sued for false advertising, because that is not the yumbos from the '70s. I know, I was there.
