A clean sweep

I moved to a very large city in Michigan from Sikeston several years ago. I, along with my husband and then teenage son, wondered about the city keeping the snow plowed in our subdivision. Sikeston had such a hard time keeping up with the snow there, I just knew it would be impossible for them to keep up with it here in Michigan. The city is 3-4 times more populated than Sikeston, so where did that leave us? Wow! Every morning when we get up for work, our cul-de-sac, and main street from there is plowed plus it is also freshly done when we come home at night. What gives Sikeston?

Perhaps, just perhaps, Michigan is better geared to handle large volumes of snow/ice. But that's just a guess.

Column said it all

Your column in the Wednesday edition of the SEMO regarding The Republican Congress said it all. I am so disgusted with the entire bunch as to feel there isn't any hope left. I had hoped the Tea Party may cause some 'waking up' but seems I was wrong. Appreciate your writings and positions. Please keep writing. Thank you.
