Mississippi County: Voters are set to choose city, school officials in election

CHARLESTON -- Area voters will pick city officials and school board members in the municipal election Tuesday.

In Charleston, voters will be asked to vote for two of the five candidates filed for three-year terms on the City Council. Choices are: Bobby Kuykendall, Michael A. Jones, David L. Teeters, John Tucker and Patrick Farmer.

The Charleston R-1 School District has four candidates running for two three-year terms. They are: Brent Peters, Glenn Fennell Sr., Floyd Ray Ward Sr. and Margaret Rowe.

Kevin P. Mainord is unopposed on the ballot for East Prairie mayor as is Mary Anne Mainord for city collector and Paul Pfeifer for Ward III alderman.

In Ward II, there is one seat open with Robert Moore and Jennifer Grissom on the ballot.

These East Prairie full terms in office are two years.

On the ballot to fill a one-year unexpired term for Ward III are Kellie Anderson Bone and Benji Miller.
