School board election: Drury, Tanner elected to R-6 board

BENTON -- Voters in the Sikeston R-6 School District chose two new members for the Board of Education in Tuesday's general municipal election.

Heather Drury collected 1,563 votes while Matt Tanner garnered 1,543 votes in being named to the Board. Chris Hodgkiss fell just short in his attempt at re-election to the Board with 1,439 votes while Jay Elliott finished with 1,160 votes.

David Jones opted not to seek another term on the Board.

The race for two positions on the New Madrid County R-1 School Board was just as close with Ralph Barnwell Jr. (608 votes) and "Dee" Moore (593 votes) getting elected. Jonathan Maloyed and Scott Riley finished with 581 and 569 votes respectively.
