Guns aren't the problem

I would like to speakout about the DPS director addressing concerns about the recent gun violence. It is not gun violence, it is people violence. It is thugs on the street committing violence. I have never seen a gun walk out on the street and shoot someone by itself.

It's all about the money

I totally agree with your editorial on June 17. The corruption brought on by unregulated amounts of money blowing into Jefferson City is destroying a state that for many years was reasonably clean, as states go. But you need to expand your examination of money flow, such as the $1 million in cash that the last two speakers of the house have taken home upon retirement. Both have become high-paid lobbyists in the very houses they were leaders of. The money was raised from contributors under the guise of they were going to use it to run for higher office, which of course was a lie and which of course they didn't return the money. You might mention that both of the ladies running for governor and lieutenant governor have received $1 million donations approximately, which constituted 95 percent of all the money they had raised at the time, both from the same man in St. Louis who presently owns one party in this ridiculous dance obstruction. Balanced news is crucial to an informed elector. I don't compare $50,000 in donations to $1 million, which is very seldom mentioned by certain folks.
