Disturbed by deaths

Have you noticed that the obituaries in the paper, if you read them every night, how many people are dying from drug overdoses? They never say that they died from a drug overdose, but you can read between the lines. It appears that 2-3 people are dying every week from drug overdoses. As I say, it's very disturbing.

You've got it all wrong

I'm calling in response to "Quoting the Bible" in SpeakOut. I just want to say I'm sorry but you're completely wrong about what the Bible says. I'm sorry you misunderstood it. It does not say that the Old Testament will fall when Christ passes away on the cross and the New Testament will rise with him. You really don't understand it. If you want some scriptures in the New Testament that talks about sexuality, Romans 1 - 26, 27 and 32; I Timothy 1, 9-10; Jude 1- 7. You need to read these because God is still in control. You are completely mixed up. Hopefully you will get some knowledge.

Eight is enough for a car

I was at a restaurant this afternoon. A family of eight, and the woman was soon to have another child, they complained on the food and the service and they didn't leave a tip. Is it me or has anyone else noticed that people who don't have any financial resources, that they overpopulate the world because the government will pay for their children? We working people have to pay for our children. I had a man tell me that when my first child was born, that had his seventh child, "One more and I can buy a new car." This won't change anything, but this is sad. They know the system better than we do.

The law was followed

I have a question about the Sikeston police officer that pulled into the path of a pickup at the intersection of Harlene and Highway 60 and caused an accident. Did the officer receive a ticket for causing an accident? Was he tested for drugs in his system? (This is required by law). The reason for the question is simple. The officer refused medical treatment. Bingo! That's a red flag right there. If anyone had drugs in their system, of course they will refuse medical treatment.

The law requires anyone injured on the job to be drug tested. And yes, the public safety officer was drug tested. He was also disciplined.

Where's she at?

We were just wondering, has something happened to the lady on Matthews Street? We go to the Pentecostal Church and she would always be out there on Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon and Wednesday night. We haven't seen here for awhile. If anybody knows, could you put it in the paper?

S'more eyesores

I'd like to call in about eyesores. Me and my wife saw there's some big eyesores on Highway 80. It's bad. I just want to let people know they need to make them clean-up or fine them or both.
