Local business burglarized for the second time in month

SIKESTON -- A Sikeston business was burglarized for the second time within a month.

Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a report at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday of a burglary and property damage at B&B Boats and Bikes, 110 Missouri Ave., in Sikeston.

According to DPS reports, a fence surrounding the business was cut, and four boat motors valued at $1,200 each were taken from the property.

Further information on this incident was unavailable, and an investigation continues.

The business was burglarized on March 8 when a door was pried open in the early morning hours to gain entry into the business. While inside, the individuals took a small amount of cash and four four-wheelers valued in excess of $43,000. Additionally, employees reported over $3,000 in property damage occurred during the the break-in.

Three Sikeston individuals were charged March 22 for the incident and two of the three remain in jail with hearings scheduled for later this month.
