CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Details have been released on an East Prairie man who was arrested on drug charges in Mississippi County.

According to the East Prairie Police Department, they received information on Thursday that a male with a warrant from Cape Girardeau, known as Jason Hercik, 38, was exiting Susanna Wesley FLC. Chief Lafferty and Officer Lawson observed the male walking from the center to K.C.'s parking lot to a blue Dodge Charger. When asked to identify himself he gave a false name and Social Security number, stated that he did not have any identification and began to walk away.

The officers informed Hercik he was under arrest for an outstanding warrant from Cape Girardeau, at which time he became combative and began to struggle with the officers. In an attempt to get him to comply the officer unholstered his taser. Just as he unholstered, Hercik removed the taser from the officer's hand. After a brief struggle, Hercik thew the taser under a civilian's vehicle and continued to resist arrest.
