Your view: Thanks for support

Monday, February 16, 2004

The soldiers, families and Family Readiness Group of the Missouri Army National Guard, 1140th Engineer Battalion, Company C would like to express their sincerest thanks to all the people, organizations and businesses who contributed their time, money and efforts to the success of the departure ceremony held on Jan. 3 at the Sikeston Field House. Words cannot adequately convey how much your support and your efforts mean to us. This may not be a complete list, so I apologize in advance for anyone who is unintentionally omitted.

We would like to thank Sikeston Public Schools for use of the Field House and other equipment; Charleston High School ROTC who served as ushers; the Sikeston Department of Public Safety for providing the Color Guard, security and fire engine exhibit for the ceremony; the City of Sikeston for the end production of the departure programs which were distributed at the ceremony; and Helen's Florist for the lovely floral arrangements. A very special thank you to Larry Carroll and Pro Music for the production of the ceremony to video. Also thank you to Larry Carroll, Rodney McConnell and Darryl Spurlock for their expert technical assistance with the actual ceremony.

Our gratitude goes out to the Coalition for Charlie Company and the Sikeston Jaycees for their continued support of Charlie Company's mission. I ask that everyone please continue to offer your thoughts and prayers for the success and safe return of these brave American soldiers as they prepare to leave Fort Riley, Kan., and go overseas. All of those I have mentioned above, as well as everyone who attended to give their support or serve as speakers, made the departure ceremony very memorable and special in the lives of Charlie Company soldiers and their families, and we will be forever grateful. We could not have had such a meaningful ceremony without you.

Sincerely,

Sondra Armour, secretary

Family Readiness Group
