SIKESTON - James Lee White, 71, died May 1, 2004, at his home.

Born June 6, 1932, in Ridgely, Tenn., son of Lillian Spence White of Sikeston and the late Flaudie White, he was a farmer and attended the Canalou Assembly of God Church.

His wife, Gracie White, preceded him in death.

Survivors in addition to his mother include: two sons, David Barger of northwest Tennessee and James Edward White of Indiana; two daughters, Laurie Wright of Springfield and Kathy Wheat of Reeds Springs; five brothers, Samuel White of Lake Placid, Fla., Bill White of Union, Jimmy White of Herrin, Ill., Kenneth White of Bloomfield and Daniel White of Wappapello; four sisters, Christine Smith, Jeannie White and Judy Waters of Sikeston and Sheila Gee of Gilbertsville, Ky.; and several grandchildren.

One son and one brother also preceded him in death.

Visitation is from noon Tuesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of the Canalou Assembly of God Church and the Rev. Randy Lemons, pastor of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Joyce, Robert Gee, Logan White, Danny White, Bill White and Michael White.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Samuel White, Daniel White, Jimmy White and Kenneth White.
