MATTHEWS -- Uler Lorean Spurgeon, 78, formerly of Gray Summit, died Dec. 28, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 14, 1925, in Durant, Okla., daughter of the late James P. and Nova Rolland Dufur, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecost belief.

Her first husband, Adrain Warf, preceded her in death in 1984.

She then married Ben Spurgeon, and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Survivors include: one son, Daryl Warf of Saalstadt, Germany; one daughter, Phyllis Dodd of Sikeston; three brothers, Gene Dufur of Streetor, Ill., Bill Dufur of Moline, Ill., and Jerry Dufur of Port Byron, Ill.; four sisters, Ruby Hughes of Sikeston, Irene Crowden of Perkins, Geneva Forrest of Sikeston and Jimmie Blaise of East Moline, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Reggie Dodd of Sikeston and Rebecca Warf, Melissa Warf and Aaron Warf of Saalstadt; and one great-grandson, Isaiah Warf of Saalstadt.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. David Craig, pastor of Powerhouse of God Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
