Lowell E. Webb

SIKESTON - Lowell E. Webb, 91, died Sept. 1, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born May 30, 1911, in Hartville, he was the son of the late Jesse F. and Bertha Webb. The Webb family moved to New Madrid County near Parma in 1922 and he served in the U.S. Navy from 1930-1934.

On March 31, 1934, he married Lou Etta McFall who survives of the home. They moved to Sikeston in 1934 and founded and owned Webb Electric until their retirement in 1970.

Lowell was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce before his retirement. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, Moolah Temple of St. Louis, the SEMO Shrine Club and Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM.

Survivors in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Donald R. and Barbara J. Webb of Sikeston; one daughter, Dr. Sally Webb of Eau Claire, Wis.; two sisters, Ruby Denton of Cape Girardeau and Jeanette Keasler of Dexter; and nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Eddie R. Webb; and two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. William "Bill" Koch, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law: Ron Webb, Don Webb Jr., Bob Walker, Bill Walker, Stuart Marsh, Bill Durako, Darrel Wilson and Dick Swann.
