JACKSON - The Charleston Bluejays improved to 17-3 on the season and 5-0 in the SEMO Conference with a 52-41 win on the road against Jackson on Tuesday.

The Bluejays jumped out to a 14-3 first quarter lead and never looked back.

They led 28-13 at the half and 42-26 entering the fourth quarter.

"We just wanted to get the victory and get out of there," said Charleston head coach Danny Farmer. "We didn't care anything about the score. We just wanted to win. Even though it was a low-scoring game, everybody contributed. It's tough at Jackson because they play such a physical game. We responded well."

The Bluejays got 13 points out of senior guard Deshaundray Hamilton. Trentez Lane added 11 points and Ashton Farmer scored 10.

Tyler McNeely led Jackson with a game-high 15 points.

Charleston will host Doniphan on Friday at 6 p.m.

Jackson defeated Charleston in the junior varsity game 56-51 to remain undefeated in the SEMO Conference.
