Your View 11/5: Heart remains in Sikeston

Tuesday, November 5, 2002

Hello, Sikeston.

My name is Spc. David A. Summers and I am currently serving in the U.S. Army.

I graduated in 1986 from Sikeston High School and left for the Army. I have been away from Sikeston for a while now. I moved back to California in 2001, after coming back home in 1996. I have been home a couple of times and still miss it. I left a lot of friends and family back there and just want to say, "Hey, I miss you all" and "Hey, I am still alive."

I am currently stationed in Utah at the Tooele Army Depot outside Salt Lake City.

I have family in Sikeston who read SpeakOut and I hope they get this message. I am glad that I can go on-line and keep up with the current events back home.

No matter where I live, my heart still belongs back in Southeast Missouri and in Sikeston. Keep up the good work and I will be back soon.

Spc. David A. Summers, U.S. Army
