Amelia Sandvos

SCOTT CITY - Amelia Elizabeth Sandvos, 65, died at 8:30 p.m. July 21, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 20, 1937, in Illmo, daughter of the late Hugo Ernest "Shine" an Alma Ann Mirgaux Sandvos, she had been a bookkeeper for Ely Walker, the Bank of Illmo, Blair Industries and Drury Industries. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, where she was a lay minister, she was also a member of the Ladies Sodality.

She is survived by two brothers, Dick Sandvos of Sikeston and David Sandvos of Scott City.

Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where parish prayers are scheduled for 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. David Coon officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Richard Sandvos, Mark Sandvos, David Sandvos, Brandon Sandvos, Matthew Sandvos, Ben Evans and Robert Evans.
