QUINCY, Ill. -- Julie Marie Schutte and Ryan Edwin Masters were married in a 2 p.m. ceremoy May 29, 2004, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Quincy before the Rev. Roy Bauer. Readers for the ceremony were Garrett Monasterio of Maple Grove, Minn., and Steven Taylor of Champaign, cousins of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of David and Janet Schutte of Payson and parents of the bridegroom are Dr. Edwin and Jacqueline Masters of Sikeston, Mo.

Music for the ceremony was performed by vocalists Steve and Patti McPheeters, friends of the bridegroom and organist Monica Scholz.

Amanda Patton of Salem was maid of honor and matron of honor was Tara Tindall of Belleville, both friends of the bride. Bridemaids were Kelcey Blair of St. Louis, friend of the bride; Emily Kocanda of Lake Forest, cousin of the bride; and Erin Cryer of Dallas, Texas, sister of the bridegroom. Flower girl was Anna Cryer of Dallas, niece of the bridegroom.

Reid Masters of Columbia, Mo., attended his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Jordan Masters of Cape Girardeau, Mo., brother of the bridegroom; Joseph Schutte and Jason Schutte of Payson, brothers of the bride; and Brandon Darby of Bentonville, Ark., cousin of the bridegroom. Ring bearer was Caden Darby of Bentonville, cousin of the bridegroom.

Ushers were Michael Taylor of Ames, Iowa, cousin of the bride and Allen Cryer of Dallas, brother-in-law of the bridegroom.

Program attendants were Samantha Haistings and Sydney Haistings of Kansas City, Mo., cousins of the bride and attending the guest book were Kathaleen Loos of Liberty, aunt of the bride and Michele Izuchukwu of St. Louis, friend of the bride.

The wedding reception was held at the Knights of Columbus North Hall.

On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Pier Restaurant in Quincy.

Following the wedding ceremony, a wedding dinner was hosted by the bride's parents at Sprout's Inn.

The new Mrs. Masters is a 1998 graduate of Seymour High School in Payson. She graduated summa cum laude in May from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and will graduate in May 2005 with a Doctor of Pharmacy. A member of the Rho Chi Honor Society, she is a graduate pharmacist at the SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

A 1992 graduate of Sikeston Senior High School, Masters graduated in 1997 from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy. He received a juris doctor in 2000 from the Drake University Law School and was a member of Phi Delta Chi and Delta Theta Phi Law fraternities. Masters is a staff pharmacist for Wal-Mart.

On April 17, the bride's aunts hosted a miscellaneous shower in St. Brigid Hall. A miscellaneous shower was also held April 24 in the home of Dr. and Mrs. John Askew, hosted by family friends of the bridegroom. Wal-Mart Pharmacy co-workers hosted a couple's shower at Applebee's and pharmacy co-workers at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital hosted a miscellaneous shower. Aunts of the bridegroom hosted the bridal luncheon at The Pier.

Following a honeymoon cruise through the Eastern Caribbean, Mr. and Mrs. Masters are making their home in Quincy.
