GORDONVILLE - Mattie Mae Sims, 77, formerly of Portageville, died Jan. 17, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 15, 1926, in Concord, daughter of the late Richard Robert and Avery Ellen Summers Mullins, she was a member of the Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson.

On Oct. 28, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., she married L.C. Sims who preceded her in death on April 25, 1990.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Rosseta Pearl Hurley and Odetta Willene Ball.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Carroll and Pat Sims of DuPo, Ill., and Luther Dale and Aileen Sims of Chesapeake, Va.; one daughter and son-in-law, Alicia Elaine and Tony Sandusky of Jackson; two brothers, Richard Robert Mullins of Advance and Walter Mullins of Malden; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dry Bayou Cemetery near Hayti.
