Doris Brower

SPRINGFIELD - Doris Stearns Brower, 85, died Feb. 11, 2004.

Born Sept. 23, 1918, in Lilbourn, she was the daughter of the late P.J. and Ethel Stearns.

Her husband, Hollis H. Brower, preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Hollis H. and Cheryl Brower Jr. of Springfield; one sister, Ruth Liley of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one son, David Brower; three brothers, Joseph Stearns, James Stearns and P.J. Stearns Jr.; and one sister, Betty Crouthers Nelson.

Services will be conducted Monday at the Kingsway United Methodist Church in Springfield.

Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery at Bois D'Arc.

The Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
