Speakout 3/26

Friday, March 26, 2004

My name is Richard Swift, vice chairman of the Prohibition National Committee and PNC chairperson for Missouri. The Prohibition Party is the oldest third party still existing, having its origins in the abolition and temperance movements. It began in 1869. Ballot laws in Missouri and other states are so restrictive that it is impossible to get on the ballot in all but probably 12 states this year. It won't be on the ballot in Missouri. Our candidate for president is Gene Amondson from Alaska. His running mate is Leroy Pletten from Michigan. Our website is www.prohibitionists.org The Democratic Party claims to speak for minorities, but it doesn't take a stand on traditional moral values those minorities believe in. The Republican Party claims to speak for conservative Christians, but it accepts money from gambling and liquor industries. Traditional moral values are promised but not kept. I'll tell you what I'm going to do in November. I'll write the names Amondson and Pletten on the presidential ballot. Forget the ongoing mudslinging between the two major candidates who don't care about you anyway.

I am madder than all get-out about this ballgame taking up TV for two days, all day Saturday and Sunday and all day on Thursday and Friday - all the way up to midnight. Why does KFVS-TV have to put that stuff on there. Why can't they put it on another channel? This is just ridiculous. I'm switching to Channel 6.

This is just a wild guess, but since KFVS is a CBS affiliate, it could be CBS programming rather than the local station who schedules these events. You can call the programming director at KFVS (573) 335-1212.

Hillary Clinton is an attractive, intelligent woman. Yes, her husband cheated on her. She made a commitment when she got married (not like today). Today it's get married today, divorce tomorrow. Who are you to judge? Look at the speck in your own eye. Look where she's at. She's better off than you are or you wouldn't be complaining.

To the person looking for the diet that appeared in Woman's World magazine a few weeks ago, if you will call back in and put in what week's magazine it was in, I will see if I have it. Then I'll call back.

The only conclusion that can be drawn from the lies about weapons of mass destruction, lies about Medicare and lies about jobs is that George Bush and his disciples don't want to govern America. They want to rule it.

I read in SpeakOut where a stupid person said John Kerry didn't win the war himself. I think he did his part. He came home with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, which is more than I can say for his President.
