Howard Chapman

WRIGHT CITY - Howard L. Chapman, 62, died June 7, 2003, at the Jefferson Barracks Hospice Unit in St. Louis.

Born April 30, 1941, in Sikeston, son of the late Francis L. and Lois Hunt Chapman, he retired as maintenance and equipment supervisor for Inns Brook Estates in Wright City and was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He attended high school in Anniston and Charleston and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include: six sons, John Chapman of Pensacola, Fla., Howard L. Chapman Jr. of Auburn, Ala., Frank Chapman of Albany, Ga., Micheal Wayne Chapman of Marthasville and Scott Chapman and Eddy Chapman of Fredericktown; three daughters, Lisa Vest of Corning, Calif., Debra Ann Chapman of Pensacola and Sherry Osborn of Grenada, Miss.; one stepson, Brandon Boley of Fredericktown; two sisters, Velma Brosch of Prairie Du Rocher, Ill., and Sharon McMillan of Sikeston; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One son, Darrell Lee Chapman, preceded him in death.

Graveside military rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County.
