Let me enlighten you on the two administrators of East Prairie. One is a city administrator and the other is the community development coordinator, which for your information is paid through a grant and not out of the city budget. The person, who you obviously know nothing about, cares more for this town and its well being than anyone I know. He would not do anything to hinder the City of East Prairie, nor would he take a job if there was not a need. The person you are talking about has had an interest in this town for many years, first as an alderman with no pay, second as the mayor with a pay of $200 a year and now he is working for the city as a community development coordinator. As a matter of fact, did you know that he worked for three months in the city office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (sometimes later) when the city administrator was sick, for no pay? He did not have to work. He felt it was his duty as mayor to step in and help out in any way he could when your city was in need of leadership. You are right. A city as small as East Prairie does not need two administrators, if the one you pay does the job, but like you say, you need to contact your Board of Aldermen. A city is more than a swimming pool for the children. And let me ask you a question. Why are you only concerned about the interest of the children when summer rolls around and they are out of school and you need a baby sitter? Don't the children need something to do in the winter as well? You probably need to do some research and get your facts straight before you write your next article, and remember, it is better to stay silent and let people think you are ignorant than to open your mouth and prove it. If your concerns were so great, why didn't you send a letter to the editor and sign your name?

This is to Peter Myers and Lanie Black. Don't listen to Gov. Holden or the Democrat Party who wants to raise our taxes. We didn't elect you to raise taxes. We elected you to cut government and cut spending.

Has anyone noticed that after the huge tax cuts was passed, which was only for the rich as it usually is and did not include the citizens, the working class or the very poor, G.W. Bush hightailed it out of the country to avoid the backlash for this cut? Has anyone noticed how our beautiful country has gone downhill since his election? (I won't say election because he did not get elected.) Please let's get this jerk out of office before all is gone. What a joke he is.

In regards to the people who are writing in about Little League, you parents, what are you teaching your children? Shame on you. Remember, it is amazing what we an accomplish in all walks of life - sports, work and so on - and it doesn't matter who gets the recognition. Think about that and think about what you are teaching them.
