Edward Kirkpatrick

BERNIE - Edward Robert Kirkpatrick, 68, died June 12, 2003, at his home.

Born Nov. 30, 1934, in Sturdivant, son of Zola Viola Kirkpatrick of Bernie and the late Benjamin Kirkpatrick, he attended the First Pentecostal Church of Bernie. Kirkpatrick, who had worked at the General Motors Plant in Michigan and the Elgin Metal Casket Factory, was employed with the City of Bernie from 1977 until his retirement.

On June 29, 1957, in Bernie, he married Carol Jean Jines who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: two sons, Tim Kirkpatrick and Mike Kirkpatrick of Bernie; one daughter, Shelia Burch of Bernie; two brothers, Frank Kirkpatrick of Corinth, Miss., and Gail Kirkpatrick of Bernie; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
