Speakout 12/17

Friday, December 17, 2004

Whoever does the Section 8 in this town needs to start checking out the people who are letting someone have these houses on Section 8. I recently moved into this town and apparently my phone number begins with 471 and a tenant's number begins with 472. Her landlord calls my house and asks if she wants to trade out the difference in Section 8 with him. I do not do hair so stop calling me about getting your hair done. I do not sell dimes, I do not sell quarters, and my name is neither of the three females you call and ask for. You need to get the number right because I'm sick and tired of it. Quit calling me in the middle of the night. I have to get up in the morning, go to work so I can pay taxes so you can get your Section 8!

To report fraud or other crimes concerning public housing or Section 8, call the Sikeston Housing Authority at 471-3012.

I'm so proud of Mike for what he put in the Dec. 12 paper. It is so true. Medicaid is absolutely hurting the world. Of most of them who draw it, some of them have nothing wrong with them, they are able to work but they draw money, get all their medical bills paid free, lay up in the hospital as long as they want to and don't have to help any. The ones who are hurt by all this are the senior citizens and young working people. They can't afford insurance because it has gone too high. Medicare is going up and it's because of those who don't even pay for Medicare and they get it paid for by Medicaid and also get Medicaid too. It's time for this to stop, especially in the State of Missouri. What Mike said was so true. I wish he could print more about it.
