Jackson leads Elks to American League win

SIKESTON -- Here are Thursday's results from Sikeston Area Youth Baseball:

JUNIOR BABE RUTH

US Bank 8, DeWitt 4

Tyler Brooks was 3-for-4 with an RBI, leading US Bank to an 8-4 win. Blake Walker also had a hit and drove in a run. Joshua Jackson picked up the win, allowing four hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts. For DeWitt Auction, Cody Cooper was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Brandon Ayers also had a hit. Ayers and Mike Sansagraw both threw in the loss.

First National 9, Elks 3

Eric Burton was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, leading First National to victory. Chris Carnell and Tyler Kinder also had hits. Martin Schaefer and Carnell both pitched in the win, allowing five hits and four walks with eight strikeouts. For the Elks, Caleb McClellan was 2-for-3 with an RBI. James Beaird and Dennis Evans also had hits. McClellan was charged with the loss.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

American Legion 9, Kiwanis 8

The Legion held off a fifth-inning rally to nip Kiwanis 9-3 in the National League Tournament. Seth Baker paced the Legion at the plate, batting 3-for-4 with an RBI. Brandon Williams, Baker, Tyler Ramey and Robert E. Lee all pitched in the win, allowing five hits and eight walks with six strikeouts.

For Kiwanis, Chase Ferrell led the way batting 2-for-4 with an RBI. Charles Faulkner and Ashton Cantrell both threw in the loss.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Elks 11, Fabick 7

Jody Jackson was 2-for-4, leading the Elks to an 11-7 win over Fabick in the American League Tournament. Jimmy Obermark picked up the win, allowing 10 hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts. For Fabick, Jason Isaacs was 3-for-3. Luke Jones, Isaacs and Ronnie Pyland all threw in the loss.

MUSIAL LEAGUE

Standard Democrat 17, Sikeston Auto 12

Evan Underwood went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, leading the Standard Democrat to a 17-12 win over Sikeston Auto in the Musial League Tournament. Nick Bird was also 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Ross Bohannon got the complete-game victory, allowing 10 hits and 11 walks with 10 strikeouts.

For Sikeston Auto, Nathan Rodgers was 4-for-4 with seven RBIs. He blasted an in-the-park homer in the second inning. Zach Meyers was 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Rodgers and Evan Deere both threw in the loss.

ROOKIE LEAGUE

First Midwest 7, Ponder 5

Ryan Norton smashed a home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game, but Ponder came up short in the end, losing 7-5 to First Midwest in the Rookie League Tournament. For First Midwest, Bradley Burks and Garrett Self were both 3-for-3. Aleaha Little, Trent McMillan, Connor Landers and Josh Glaus each had two hits. For Ponder, Cord Sheehy was 4-for-4. The team saw three hits each from Andrew Hicks and Ben Walker, then two each from Ian Meeks and Layton Davis.

Sikeston Motors 16, 731 Realty 11

Sikeston Motors saw four hits each from Kyler Reeves, Sam Lincoln, Ian Householder and Gage Britton. Connor Hamra and Chris Kennard each contributed three hits.

731 saw three hits each from Tyler Anderson and Tommy Masterson. Michael Burdin, Corey Taylor and Zack Neal each had two hits and Tyler Scheldnick contributed one.
