HAYWOOD CITY -- Johnnie Mae Porter, 75, died March 20, 2008, at her home.

Born Aug. 30, 1932, in West Helena, Ark., to the late Freddie and Beatrice Warren, she had worked at Sikeston Health Care and was a retired certified nurses aide and certified medical technician.

On Feb. 4, 1953, in Arkansas, she married David Porter who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, one brother, three grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.

Survivors include: five daughters, Geraldine Manning of Haywood City, Daisy Mosley of Oran, Irene Mitchell and Katice Webb of Sikeston and Laverne Bartlett of Klondike, Ill.; six sons, Freddie Manning of St. Louis, Charles Amos of Klondike, Johnny Porter of Morley, Melvin Porter of Sikeston, Calvin Porter of Jackson and Jerry Porter of Haywood City; one stepson, David Porter Jr. of the state of Arkansas; one brother, Oliver Corke; five sisters, Izora Taylor, M. Francis Watson, Brenda Corke, Blanche Billups and Edna Kelley; and 37 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Louis Williams will officiate.

Burial will be in the Haywood City Cemetery.

Driver Funeral Service of Hayti is in charge of arrangements.
