Roberts' home run keys Sikeston Motors to 3-2 victory

SIKESTON - Results of Friday's Sikeston Area Youth Baseball League action were as follows.

SIX-YEAR OLD LEAGUE

Gavin Moore stroked two hits and Conner Merideth and Austin Bailey added a hit apiece to lead First National, while Torrie Helms' three hits and two each from Colton Davis and Shawn Ferguson topped 731 Realty.

Wynn Roberts' home run was a key hit for Sikeston Motors, which scored all its runs in the third inning to break open a scoreless game, then held off Ultimate for the win. Sikeston Motor's Colson Frakes and Gavin Pobst along with Ultimate's Blake Wolferding and Ty Householder added one hit each.

ROOKIE LEAGUE

Gavin O'Brien had three hits including a homer and Wesley Shaw also collected three hits to pace Blanchard's offensive attack. Layton Jones and Joe Cooksey added two hits apiece.

Jarred Boyd went 2-for-2 for Fabrite.

Darin Hoskins (2-3 with a triple) and James Haskins (2-2) led Jim Wilson. Austin Rowan (2-3) was the leading hitter for D & S with two hits.

Randy's RX 9, Fabrite 1

Colton Bock, Brandon Houseman and Clay Williams each went 3-for-3 to lead Randy's. Jared Boyd and Colton Hampton rapped two hits each for Fabrite.

Joe Cooksey hammered three hits including a home run, while teammates Wesley Shaw, Court Story and Blake Below also had three hits apiece in Blanchard's win. Garrick Madison and Caleb Dannenmueller had three hits each for Midwest.

Jarrett Sandlin had a game-high four hits in four trips to lead Ferguson, while teammate Caleb Dunn went 3-for-3.

Chase Kaminsky, Zach Harrison and Austin Erwin collected three hits each for R. J. Silver.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Tanner Bryant went the distance to pick up the win and led KSIM with a 3-for-3 day at the plate. Ross Bohannon had two hits.

For the American Legion, Parker Williams, Andrew McDowell and Trey Harper had one hit each.

Wild Eye's Colton Young pitched a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts and Wesley Glaus led the offense with two hits, while Jimmy Obermark belted a triple.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Kirby's Sandwich Shop 5,

Taylor Scott pitched the win with relief help from Vashon Ruffin. Ruffin tripled and Zach Shaw doubled to lead Kirby's, while Josh Hampton homered and Tyler Neal doubled for Steward.

Ian Householder struck out 10 in the complete-game win and Kyle McElwain blasted two triples with two RBIs for the Elks.

Taylor Scott smashed two doubles to pace Kirby's win.

MUSIAL LEAGUE

Steward's scored the decisive runs in the top of the last inning, then held off a Noffel rally in the bottom of the frame for the win. Michael Burdin picked up the win in relief. Brandon Goodwin led Noffel at the plate with two hits, including a triple.

Morlan scored the winning run in its final at-bat. Caleb McCord led Morlan with three hits, while Alex Elesy and Jerry Gordon added two each.

Matt King led Nunnelee with three hits. Teammates Chris Alley, Lucas Houchin and Logan Hawkins collected two hits apiece.

Cord Sheehy went four innings for the win, allowing two hits with nine strikeouts, and Tyler Anderson closed out the win for Morlan with one inning of no-hit relief. Anderson topped Morlan with two hits. Trey Tigart tripled and Brandon Goodwin singled for Noffel.
