Miles Ramsey

CLARKSTON, Mich. - Miles L. Ramsey, 79, formerly of Parma, Mo., died May 31, 2002, at the Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac.

Born Sept. 13, 1922, in Bernie, Mo., son of the late Sherman and Ada Ramsey, he retired in 1978 from General Motors Fisher Body Division. He served with the 14th Armored Division of the U.S. Army.

On Sept. 5, 1942, at Portageville, Mo., he married Earlene Hendrix who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Dave Ramsey of Memphis, Tenn., and Dennis Ramsey of Collierville, Tenn.; two daughters, Charlotte Vermilye of Clarkston and Sharon Griffith of Waterford; two brothers, Bill Ramsey of Lawton, Okla., and Chester Ramsey of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Faye Bowman of Port Orchid, Wash.; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo., where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden, Mo.
