Murakami takes first in Super Pro
SIKESTON -- Mark Murakami of Cape Girardeau edged Royce Thomason of Malden to capture the Super Pro division at the Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday.
Murakami ran an elapsed time of 6.08 seconds with a dial-in of 6.08 at 110.32 mph with a reaction time of .506.
Thomason ran elapsed time of 6.105 seconds with a dial-in of 6.11 at 112.81 mph with a reaction time of .525.
In the Pro division, Dennis Harty of Dudley took the checkered flag in an ET of 6.843 seconds with a dial-in of 6.83 at 98.44 mph and a reaction time of .486.
Bill Hooker of Herrin, Ill., finished second in an ET of 8.053 with a dial-in of 8.06 at 85.06 mph with a reaction time of .448.
Hooker claimed a win in the ET class with an elapsed time of 8.070 seconds with a dial-in of 8.04 at 84.74 mph with a reaction time of .506.
Devin Brooks of Dexter was the runnerup with a time of 8.556 and a dial-in of 8.52 at 79.26 mph with a reaction time of .279.
