FISK - Sam Buttrey, 81, died March 6, 2005, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Born June 2, 1923, in Parma, son of the late John Harrison and Pearl Sebastain Buttrey, he attended the Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church in Fisk.

On Dec. 27, 1941, at Parma, he married Sarah Margaret Shelby who preceded him in death on March 20, 1984.

One sister, Mary Hampton, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Art and Sharon Buttrey and Larry and Jean Buttrey of Brosley and Dale and Elsie Buttrey and Garry and Carolyn Buttrey of Fisk; two brothers, Ed Buttrey of Fisk and John Buttrey of Orlando, Fla.; six sisters, Pat Atwill of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Alice Crow of Parma, Betty Wagoner of Catron, Ivanell Blatchley of Denver, Colo., Nancy Buttrey of Memphis, Tenn., and Carolyn Shelton of Malden; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Malden Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Winberry officiating.
