Janie Edwards

DEXTER - Janie Lucille Edwards, 81, died Oct. 10, 2001, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born May 10, 1920, in Murray, Ky., daughter of the late Atle and Illa Marine Charlton, she was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Dexter.

In 1937, at Piggott, Ark., she married Tribble Elsworth Edwards ho preceded her in death in 1991.

Survivors include: six sons, Gary Edwards of Fisk, Dale Edwards and Jackie Edwards of Rockford, Ill., Jimmy Edwards and Micky Edwards of Broseley and Benny Edwards of Barkersfield; two daughters, Sue Davis of Pangburn, Ark., and Eva McNece of Bernie; one brother, Bill Charlton of Nashville, Tenn.; and 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Connie Edwards; three sisters, Nola Mae Brown, Olivia Tucker and Maudina McCain; and three grandsons.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will follow in the Gregory Cemetery at Kennett.
