Edna Cato

McGEE - Edna Cato, 94, died July 20, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 4, 1909, at McGee, daughter of the late John and Louisa Payne Stephens, she was a member of the Shady Dell Church in McGee since 1943.

On Feb. 12, 1930, at McGee, she married Charlie Cato who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1993.

Survivors include: two sons, Verdell Cato of Caruthersville and Don Cato of Advance; two daughters, Ann Kempf of Bridgeton and Carolyn Walker of McGee; and eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Harold Cato; one sister, Golda Koch; and one brother, Oren Stephens.

Visitation is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, where Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.

Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Revs. Ray Placher and Jack Leslie officiating.

Burial will follow in the McGee New Hope Cemetery.
