Wilma Dakin

SCOTT CITY - Wilma Ethel Dakin, 77, died at 9:10 a.m. Nov. 20, 2001, at her son's home in Olmsted, Ill.

Born July 12, 1924, in Fornfelt, daughter of the late Louie E. and Rosie Jane Belk Menees, she was a secretary for the Columbus Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

On Aug. 17, 1943, she married Charles James Dakin who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1987.

Survivors include: three sons, James Dakin of Bridgeview, Ill., David Dakin of Olmsted and Jesse Dakin of Scott City; three daughters, Inis Tennant of Harcie, Mary Zander of Scott City and Ella Russell of Chaffee; one brother, James Menees of Albuquerque, N.M.; and 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one son and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Jack Owens, officiating.

Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery at Scott City.
